Farano's "Cool As Ice" Original Painting on Display prior to Live Auction
Gervin Personalization to Highest Bidder
The George Gervin Celebrity Charity Roast Dinner was held on Saturday March 28th in San Antonio, Texas. The George Gervin Foundation sought out artist Justyn Farano to do a painting in honor of the Hall of Famer Gervin for the celebrity charity event. Farano kindly accepted the request in an effort to help the cause. The painting was used in the live auction in an effort to help raise funds for the George Gervin Youth Center. Sydney Paige was the happy recipient and highest bidder of the original painting.
Some guests and notables in attendance were Bill Russell, Julius Erving, Clyde Drexler, Oscar Robertson,
Moses Malone, Rick Barry, Bob Lanier, and Priest Holmes.
The George Gervin Youth Center is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization has reached out in an effort to help troubled youth since 1991. The George Gervin Academy provides a safe learning environment for students K-4 and 9-12.
